Nigeria’s Aviation Chief Commends ‘I Am the New Nigeria’ Initiative, Sees National Impact Potential

A delegation from the Madiba Foundation for Good Governance and FIST Africa recently met with Barrister Festus Keyamo SAN FCIArb, Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development. The visit aimed to express their gratitude for the Minister’s valuable participation in the launch of the “I Am the New Nigeria” campaign.

During the meeting, Mr. Olumide Frederick Adetiba presented Minister Keyamo with campaign materials to broaden the initiative’s reach. The Minister praised the campaign, calling it “a powerful initiative with the potential to transform the mindsets and behavior of Nigerians.”

Minister Keyamo actively explored avenues for inter-agency collaboration to amplify the campaign’s impact. He emphasized the importance of partnering with relevant government institutions to maximize the initiative’s national visibility and effectiveness.

The Minister drew a compelling comparison to the impactful “Good People, Great Nation” campaign led by the late Mrs. Dora Akunyili, Minister of Information and Communication under President Olusegun Obasanjo in 2008. This comparison highlights the potential of “I Am the New Nigeria” to achieve similar national influence.

This meeting signifies the growing momentum behind the “I Am the New Nigeria” campaign and its potential to spark positive societal change. The campaign aims to foster a sense of shared responsibility for building a “New Nigeria” by encouraging citizens to embrace new values and positive behavioral change.

In attendance were Ms. Ozohu Otonoku, Programme Manager of the Madiba Foundation, and Mr. Emmanuel Ekwe, Programme Director of FIST Africa.
